Clayton Christensen's Acceptance Speech Clayton Christensen's Acceptance Speech At the beginning of our career; our LIFE, do we have a strategy to be sore and recluse in the long term..? Then why is this that most of us land that way..! Why a stunning number of people execute a strategy that they never want to pursue in the first place. Why do we go through a broken marriage; alienated children, unhappy parents, friends; genuine friends, now totally forgotten, etc.. the list goes on! How many of us have a clear-cut Deliberate Strategy and an Emergent Srtategy and in what sphere of our life (Personal vs Professional)? referred to Henry Mintzberg 's work. Awesome video! Other Side of the Table...

Other Side of the Table... Kshitij Bansal Congratulations for your promotion Guys! You have done it again. No doubt you deserved that. But before you take on your new responsibilities, I think you must read a story. As they say ‘Power is a necessary evil’, if used to do well, it can create revolution and if mishandled, can create havoc. When my heart provoked me to share with you, a lesson that I learned from my uncle, I penned it down in form of this story. The story is about a guy who got to learn the real meaning of progress and power. With a hope that the message reaches you in high spirit, I wish you all the best. Enjoy reading… Other side of the table… “Really?” was his first word when that sound fell on his eardrums. “I mean thanks! Thanks a lot, Sir! Bye…” He couldn’t believe his ears what he had heard just a few seconds ago. After all he had been waiting for this for years now. He still remembered the day when he became Technical lead. How Will You Measure Your Life?

How Will You Measure Your Life? A wonderful work I found on HBR... and the forum that it created.. I'm still in the awe of these wonderful people around! Thank you  Clayton  for reminding us in such a brilliant and clear way that life is multidimensional; and for bringing sense to it. It is easier to hold on to your principles a 100 percent of the time; but whether or not THAT is the right/better thing to do - must be subject to the scrutiny of your very principle.  After all, its our moral frigidity that creates conflict, prevents co-existence and tolerance and brews superiority and judgement. The choice and successful pursuit of a profession is but one tool for achieving your purpose. But without a purpose, life can become hollow. Ironically, a man realizes the true meaning of his life only after the stark realization of its transcience. If more people follow the path of their heart rather than the crowd mentality of commercial success, the world would be different. Of

Mighty Boss n Poor U!

Why you and the boss are totally different When you take a long time, you're slow. When your boss takes a long time, he's thorough. When you don't do it, you're lazy. When your boss doesn't do it, he's too busy. When you make a mistake, you're an idiot. When your boss makes a mistake, he's only human. When doing something without being told, you're overstepping your authority. When your boss does the same thing, that's initiative. When you take a stand, you're being bull-headed. When your boss does it, he's being firm. When you overlooked a rule of etiquette, you're being rude. When your boss skips a few rules, he's being original. When you please your boss, you're apple polishing. When your boss pleases his boss, he's being co-operative. When you're out of the office, you're wandering around. When your boss is out of the office, he's on business. When you're on a day off s

The TBs of Corporate universe

Image
Don't let the toxic bosses (TBs) get you down Toxic bosses are an organisational reality. Unfortunately, the corporate universe values the knowledge of leadership more than the actual practice of leadership, which is relegated to showcasing by some iconic leaders. The corporate universe, therefore, finds itself strewn with toxic bosses or TBs; those who know their leadership theory too well but their horrific real-time leadership practices would leave even their teachers red-nosed and embarrassed.  However, success in the work-world belongs to those who have developed the ability to manage all kinds of complex bosses; they veer through the corporate maze much faster and with a lot more ease compared to those who never got such an opportunity or could tackle only simple passes.  Whether your boss is an indecisive chocolate wrapper, an unambitious grunt, a control freak, a politician or a whip–cracker, all TBs are a blessing; they help you build your long-term versatility to ta
